How We Met
At the Black Cat restaurant and cafe, in Fairhaven, WA, Robert first saw Sophia across the room, engrossed in a book, her expression alight with curiosity. Intrigued, he made his way over and asked, “What are you reading?” Without looking up, she replied, “Science fiction.” Her voice carried an unmistakable note of passion, and that was it—Robert was hooked. In that moment, between the hum of the room and the quiet weight of her words, he knew he had to know her better.

The Proposal
Robert planned the proposal with meticulous care, weaving together threads of Sophia’s history and their shared journey. The trip began with a visit to Baddeck, Nova Scotia, her birthplace, where the air seemed charged with nostalgia and meaning. From there, they meandered along the Cabot Trail, its breathtaking vistas offering a sense of timeless wonder. After a leisurely afternoon of rest and quiet joy, Robert brought Sophia to Flavor on the Water in Sydney, where the Big Fiddle stood as a sentinel over the shimmering sea. Over dessert, he revealed his plan—two delicate rings hidden within two pieces of cake. As Sophia discovered hers, Robert knelt by her side, his eyes shining with love and certainty, and asked for her hand. In that moment, against the backdrop of water and music, their story transformed into a lifelong promise.

Registry
There is no recommended registry for wedding guests. Robert and Sophia have expressed wishes that guests give a gift they feel compelled and comfortable giving as a gesture of good wishes for this blessed union.
Robert and Sophia are also starting a new business–the Sophia Grace Gallery, and would welcome any gifts of money to help them in their endeavors to make their dreams come true.
